
Fine link-up play between the two Werkself youngsters on 21 minutes put head coach and former Bayer 04 professional Christian Wörns’ side ahead against a combative Welsh side – Culbreath set up Onyeka. Nine minutes later, Culbreath then scored himself to make it 2–0 at half-time. Germany continued to dominate after the break and extended their lead to 4–0 through Otto Stange (58) and Jykese Fields (90+3). Onyeka once again played the full 90 minutes, whilst Culbreath was substituted in the 85th minute.



In their final Group A match, Germany face Spain at 15:00 CEST on 4 July in a battle for top spot and a better starting position for the semi-final on 8 July. There, they could face Ukraine, Italy, Croatia or Serbia from Group B. Wörns’ team are level on points with Spain, although the Iberians boast a five-goal better goal difference. Third and fourth place are occupied by Denmark and Wales respectively.
The European Championship final takes place on 11 July at 20:00 CEST. The tournament also serves as a qualifier for the 2027 U20 World Cup in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. The four semi-finalists in the European Championship automatically qualify for the U20 World Cup. All of Germany’s matches can be watched live and free of charge on YouTube via RTL Sport. Following their 4–3 opening victory against Denmark, the Germany U19s made it two wins out of two by defeating hosts Wales, securing their place in the semi-finals with a game to spare. In the 4–0 win, Bayer 04 players Montrell Culbreath and Francis Onyeka once again put in impressive performances, with both finding the back of the net.
