“We’re gaining a central striker in Lobke who brings exactly the physical strength, presence in the penalty area and the necessary determination that we need for our style of play,” said Achim Feifel, Bayer 04 Women sporting director. “Despite her extensive experience, she is still young and has plenty of potential for development. Over the past few years, she has developed consistently in the Netherlands and established herself as a reliable goalscorer. We’ve been monitoring her for some time and are impressed by her good positional play and her finishing ability in the penalty area.”

The 1.79-metre-tall centre-forward has scored 36 goals in 69 top-flight appearances in the Netherlands to date, 12 of which came in 17 matches this season. Loonen began her professional career at Gent in 2020, scoring 13 goals in 32 appearances in the Belgian Super League, before moving to Den Haag in her homeland in 2022. A transfer to Utrecht followed in 2025. She has scored five goals in 28 appearances for the Dutch youth national teams, from the U16s to the U23s.
Speaking of her transfer, Loonen added: “I’m very happy and really looking forward to getting started in Leverkusen soon. I can’t wait to meet my new teammates, work hard together and take the next step in my career. Bayer 04 is exactly the right club for me to develop both as a player and as a person. I want to contribute to the team’s success with goals, lots of energy and maximum commitment, so that together we can celebrate many victories and special moments.”
