With the donation, which was rounded up to a total of €2,500, the works club is joining the joint campaign of clubs in the 3. Liga and Women's Bundesliga for social engagement, responsible corporate governance and the protection of the planet.
Bayer 04 also cooperates closely with the Leverkusen Women's Helpline beyond the sustainability matchday: Together with the club, Fan Liaison team and Fanprojekt Leverkusen e.V., the works club introduced the ‘Luisa is here’ support programme in February 2023, which is primarily aimed at people affected by sexual harassment in the stadium on matchdays, but also serves as a point of contact for other forms of violence and discrimination.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen will have to manage without centre-back Edmond Tapsoba in the coming weeks. The Burkina Faso international returned to the Werkself from the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco with a muscle injury.
