Bartz and Boboy on target for German U19s in Euro warm-up

Thanks in part to two goals from Bayer 04 players, the German U19 women's national team won their final friendly before the Euro finals in Lithuania. Michael Urbansky's side won 4-0 against fellow Euro participants Serbia at the DFB Campus in Frankfurt on Saturday, two weeks before the tournament starts.

Leverkusen attacker Paulina Bartz, who again captained the team, netted the second goal shortly before half-time. Bayer 04 striker Delice Boboy, on as a substitute, then made it 3-0 with a penalty in the 68th minute. Anne Moll, who's just extended her contract under the Cross until 2026, started in goal for the fourth match in a row and was substituted after 62 minutes, when Boboy came onto the field. Bartz went off six minutes later, which was also when Julia Mickenhagen, the fourth Leverkusen player, joined the action. Estrella Merino Gonzalez, who has a slight knock, was not involved.

Urbansky will name his final squad for the tournament in early July. On Monday 8 July, the team gather in Westerburg for their final camp before the trip to Lithuania. Germany are in Group B in the tournament, which runs from 14 to 27 July, where they face Netherlands on 15 July (17:00 CEST), Republic of Ireland on 18 July (13:00 CEST) and Spain in a repeat of last year's final on 21 July (13:00 CEST). All three games will be held at the Jonava City Stadium.
