First choice keeper Anne Moll, captain Paulina Bartz, Julia Mickenhagen (up to 68 minutes) and Estrella Merino Gonzalez were all in the starting XI, Delice Boboy did not play. Melina Krüger (Hamburg SV) gave the team under Germany coach Michael Urbansky the lead on 75 minutes and the Netherlands levelled in the final minute.

With a total of five players in the squad of 20, Bayer 04 have the most players in the Germany line-up. Captain Bartz and Moll played for Germany last year. Back then, Germany lost the final against the third group opponents Spain 3-2 on penalties.
