Goalkeeper Friederike Repohl extends Bayer 04 contract
Bayer 04 Leverkusen can continue to rely on the services of goalkeeper Friederike Repohl. The 29-year-old has extended her contract, which was due expire at the end of the current season.
"With her consistent, high-quality performances and her commanding presence, Rike has been a valuable pillar of the team, not only since the start of this season," said Achim Feifel, sporting director of Bayer 04 Women. "That's why we're delighted that she, as a strong goalkeeper and personality on and off the pitch, is staying with us and we can continue our successful journey together."
Repohl: on a very good path
"I'm very happy that my journey in Leverkusen is continuing," commented Repohl. "Since I've been here, we've improved year upon year and also become more professional off the pitch, so I feel that we're on a very good path. I want to continue to do my part to ensure that we improve step by step and achieve our common goals."
The Bielefeld-born goalkeeper moved to Leverkusen in 2021 from VfL Wolfsburg. Since then, she's made 44 competitive appearances for Bayer 04, including all 17 league matches of the current campaign. In total Repohl has played 110 Bundesliga games in her career.
