Vilhjálmsdóttir, with Iceland, has a good chance of direct qualification for the tournament running from 2 to 27 July 2025. They are sure of going through if the team holds onto second place in Group 4 of League A. Only Austria (four points) are in contention with Iceland (seven points). The team from Iceland are at home in Reykjavík on Friday 12 July against Germany who have already qualified with twelve points. The sixth and final group match is on Tuesday 16 July against Poland who have no points and are already knocked out.
Turányi will need a magnificent effort to qualify for the Euros. Hungary are first away to Azerbaijan on Friday night before a home game against Turkey on Tuesday night. The central defender and her team currently lie second in Group 1 of League B with four points and that position puts them in the play-offs. Azerbaijan and Turkey are also in the running with the group leaders Switzerland certain of qualifying as the hosts.
The quintet of Anne Moll, Paulina Bartz, Delice Boboy, Estrella Merino Gonzalez and Julia Mickenhagen are currently away with the Germany U19 squad preparing for the European Championships in Lithuania (14 to 27 July). The Germany U20s, with Sofie Zdebel and Loreen Bender in the squad, are not involved in internationals over the next few days.
