"Valentina has already demonstrated her threat in front of goal for both her club and in all the youth national teams," said Bayer 04 Women sporting director Achim Feifel. "With her versatility, she's an option for all our attacking positions. She particularly stands out with her fast-paced dribbling and her one-v-one ability. As a young and talented player with potential for development, she fits our profile very well and is a valuable addition to our attack."
The 1.75-metre-tall striker has represented Austria at every youth level, scoring 34 goals in 42 internationals. Last October she was called up to the senior squad for the first time. With St. Pölten, she secured the Austrian Bundesliga title for the third time in a row last weekend. Mädl has scored 34 goals in 73 appearances at club level since 2022.
"This move offers me an ideal opportunity for further development, which I can't refuse," said Mädl. "The step from Austria to a big German club is a big one and I'm very much looking forward to the coming season. I hope that I can help the team, particularly with my speed. My aim is to qualify for Europe with Leverkusen."
