"Ruby can play in different positions in midfield and is impressive both technically and tactically," said Achim Feifel, sporting director of the Bayer 04 Women's team: "In addition to her strong physique, she also has impressive mentality and is very versatile. She can put her teammates through up front but also cover them in terms of defence."
Defensive midfielder Grant played 28 games for Häcken in the 2024 season and contributed two goals and two assists. Her team finished second in the Swedish top division Damallsvenskan. In her youth, the 13-time U23 international, who also has Irish roots, was at the Arsenal academy from 2011 to 2018. She then played for the University of North Carolina for twelve months in the USA college league. That was followed by the move to Sweden in 2023.
"Bayer 04 have a very good reputation internationally and the team was also impressive in the first half of the season. I'm very much looking forward to being part of this team and helping them compete for the top spots," said Grant: "After I'd watched a number of games I definitely wanted to come here. On the pitch I'd like to show the fans a lot of passion and my creativity in the final third."
