"Claudia has won trophies and brings lots of experience at the highest level: both in the Champions League and with the international team where she's played in many games against the top sides in Europe," said Achim Feifel, Bayer 04 Women's team sporting director: "With her pace, her strength in challenges and her vision she can give our game a boost and make us more flexible."

Since her transfer within the Austrian Bundesliga from USV Neulengbach to St. Pölten, Wenger has won the double of the Austrian league title and ÖFB Women's Cup four times in succession since 2022. Born in Steyr, she made 79 appearances for St. Pölten, including 14 in the Champions League, and scored three goals along the way. She has made eight international appearances for Austria so far.
