"We’ve had a very good week. The win in Dortmund (1-0, ed.) gave us a great boost. We are now focussed on the next game, it will be difficult again against Augsburg. They are quick in transition and have good players. We lost 2-0 in the Hinrunde, and we haven't forgotten that. We're looking forward to this home game with our fans at our own ground. It's always essential to have the support of the fans," said Kasper Hjulmand at the press conference on Friday morning.
In addition to the atmosphere at the stadium, with all the home sections sold out, Hjulmand can also look forward to the return of a squad member: Jarell Quansah is fit again. For Hjulmand, this is a "good opportunity in terms of competition. Of course, I'm not saying how we'll solve it in defence. But it's definitely not a bad thing to have a lot of good players at your disposal. Especially in the final phase of a season. They will push each other." One thing is also clear: "We’ll have to be very focussed to get a result. That applies to all games up to the end of the season. We're chasing the top four."
In response to a question about the 18-year-old Montrell Culbreath, Hjulmand said: "He's developing really well. I see a very well-trained player who has a good base, is alert and always plays with intensity. He is offensively minded and now plays a little more defensively in the Bundesliga. It's not easy, but he is quick to learn and is a great talent. I see huge potential for him, especially because of his good personality."
Fans coming to the match should take note of important traffic information when travelling to the stadium. Until Monday morning, 20 April, the A1 between the Köln-Nord junction and the Leverkusen junction will be fully closed in both directions. The Leverkusen Rhine bridge is also affected. Bayer 04 fans travelling by car from this direction should take a detour around that area. There will also be restrictions at the Köln-Niehl junction and at the Leverkusen-West and Leverkusen junctions. In addition, Nobelstraße in Leverkusen is fully closed.
Since mid-October, the A59 motorway in Leverkusen has been closed for around eight months due to roadworks. The closure begins at the Düsseldorf-Süd motorway junction and lasts until the Richrath junction. The motorway in the opposite direction will then also be closed. The work is expected to last until the end of 2027. You can find further travel information HERE.
