Jarell Quansah arrived in Leverkusen in the summer of 2025 as the newly crowned Under-21 European champion. The Englishman, who had already won the European Championship with the Three Lions' Under-19 team in 2022, impressed at the tournament in Slovakia as an indispensable regular in central defense. At Liverpool FC, where Quansah had been playing since the age of five, the 1.90-meter-tall defender had become an increasingly important pillar of the back line in the 2024/2025 championship season, making 25 appearances. “With Jarell, our defense gains distinctive dynamism, pace, and toughness in one-on-one situations, as well as another very important building block for the Werkself of the future,” said Bayer 04 sporting director Simon Rolfes, explaining the signing.
