It is almost exactly 15 months ago since Kevin Brok made the move to Leverkusen. Previously, the 35-year-old worked with the PSV U16 team - with a number of players in the squad he could face with his Werkself on Wednesday. Brok: "It will be another great yet demanding challenge for us, but that's the case in every match in this competition. We want these games at the absolute top level and we are confident enough to work something out. We're also going into this game with the aim of winning it."
It was only on Monday night that the PSV second team, including a number of players in the UCL Youth League squad, played a match in the Dutch second division. According to Brok, this means it is not yet possible to predict exactly how PSV will line up at UHS. The Werkself coach on the strengths of the upcoming opponents: "They have a good understanding of the game, a high level of intensity and individually highly gifted players - but that's similar to us. That's why we're focussing on ourselves, our ideas and our performance."
In view of other players possibly ruled out in addition to Francesco Buono (cruciate ligament injury), the U19 team against PSV will be able to draw on players from the U17 squad. "It remains to be seen to what extent that will apply. We'll have to wait and see at the final training session with one or two players," said Brok. "But we have a strong squad in both teams. If someone drops out, others are ready. We have full confidence in each individual player."
Bayer 04 fans can watch the match live at the Ulrich Haberland Stadium, with gates opening one hour before kick-off at 13:00 CEST. Admission is free. Cashless payments only for food and drink. Brok is looking forward to the Youth League home opener: "If everything goes well, it will be a really great day. We're hoping for great support, especially for the lads!"
For anybody unable to be there, there will be a live stream of the match on bayer04.de and on the Bayer 04 app. The broadcast starts at 13:55 CEST.

Bayer 04 put in a brilliant performance to beat RB Leipzig 4-1 on Bundesliga matchday 32 and are now fourth in a Champions League spot. The Black and Reds took control of the game right from the start and, with 75 per cent possession at one stage, took a 2-0 lead into the break through Patrik Schick (25’) and Nathan Tella (45+1’). The visitors initially tried to do more after the break, but the Werkself remained determined and Schick scored his second goal to increase the lead to 3-0 (76'). The Red Bulls pulled a goal back through Christoph Baumgartner (80'), but the disciplined Leverkusen side were not rattled - and certainly not Schick: The Czechia international crowned a brilliant display with his third goal shortly before the final whistle to make the final score 4-1.

In the previous game against RB Leipzig in December last year, the Werkself turned came from behind to win 3-1 and further improved Leverkusen's already strong record against the Red Bulls. Montrell Culbreath stood out with his first goal on his debut for the Black and Reds. While the 18-year-old would certainly like to score a second goal against Leipzig on Saturday night, the attack-minded visitors come to the BayArena in confident mood after five Bundesliga victories in a row. The Nordkurve12 supporters group knows the Werkself will therefore once again be reliant on the vociferous support of the fans, and has once again called for the ‘Finally Red’ campaign in the run-in.
