A goal from Hajdar Shala on 85 minutes brought a fourth Bundesliga win in succession for the team coached by Markus von Ahlen and Iraklis Metaxas.
Goal: In a move down his side of the pitch, right back Shala joined in with the attack and rounded it off with an accurate shot into the net from 11 yards out.
Coach response: "It was the tough game we expected but, in spite of that, we made too little of possession in the first half. It went better in the second half after switching a few things round, above all down the wings," said Iraklis Metaxas.
League position update: With twelve points from the past four games the U19s are established in the leading group in the U19 Bundesliga West.
And next up is: After a two-week break, the U19s are at home on 23 September at the Ulrich Haberland Stadium in the top match against VfL Bochum with an as yet perfect points return (12.00 CET, free entry). The Werkself youngsters take on Fortuna Düsseldorf four days later.

It took exactly 60 minutes for the Werkself to take the lead through a perfectly finished counter-attack by Patrik Schick in the first leg of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League play-off at Olympiacos. Referring to the meeting in the league phase and the initially squandered opportunities, coach Kasper Hjulmand said afterwards: "I thought: 'Oh no, déjà-vu.'" But after the opening goal, it took just 144 seconds for the Czech to spark more wild celebrations among those in black and red in the Greek cauldron, when Schick nodded in Alejandro Grimaldo's corner. Much to the delight of the Bayer 04 fans, his teammates and his coach, who had warm words for the striker in the aftermath. The Werkself Review.
