In order to improve the visibility and participation of women and girls with disabilities in sport, the Leverkusen club and the FVM are campaigning for easy, inclusive access to football and club life. As Bayer 04 have been practising inclusive participation and community under the Cross for over 15 years, a special day of action has now been organised for the first time.

Supported by players from the Inklusionswerkself squad, who talked about their experiences on the pitch and encouraged the participants time and again, the group trained on the artificial pitch at Kurtekotten under the guidance of female Bayer 04 coaches. After a joint warm-up game, the women and girls practised dribbling, passing and shots on goal.
The lunch break with delicious packed lunches in the club's own bistro was followed by a final tournament on three pitches - with a VIP guest: captain and goalkeeper Friedrike Repohl from the Bayer 04 Women's team, currently sidelined following a partial torn ligament, was on hand to offer advice and support to the participants.

The highlight of their training day came after the tournament: The Bayer 04 Women's team took the time out after their own team training session to present the participants with autographs and certificates. The day of action was rounded off with a group photo. In addition, all participants will receive free tickets for one of Leverkusen's upcoming home games.

Werkself player Montrell Culbreath and Bayer 04 loanee Francis Onyeka are part of Germany's final squad for the U19 European Championships this summer. The tournament is in Wales from 24 June to 12 July.
