Three forms from the Thomas Morus School (TMS) from the Leverkusen district of Schlebusch visited the classroom at the BayArena as part of the thematic week. The lessons focused in particular on the social media platforms of Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok and co.
What's fun? What should you look out for online? The groups produced agreements for responsible use of the Internet. After the workshops, there was a stadium tour with a focus on the online presence of the Werkself players.
The school students received further education over and above their media expertise. As part of the Social Media week, the organisers also offer a workshop for parents. That was held at the TMS ahead of the school student workshops.
The workshops on media expertise have been a permanent part of the provision at ‘Bayer 04 macht Schule’ since 2019 and they are generally aimed at year groups five and six. The lessons are carried out in cooperation with the campaign 'Schutzraum - Medienkompetenz Internet' (Safe space – Internet media expertise).
