As part of a video conference led by committee chair Siegfried Dietrich, the clubs this afternoon again spoke out in unity for a continuation of the season and agreed to the confirmation of the remaining fixtures this afternoon. The revised fixture list was agreed at a meeting of the DFB board on 11 May.
The season has been resumed based on the hygiene concept devised by the Sports Medicine/Special Match Operations Task Force. The regulations jointly produced by the DFB and the DFL require strict hygiene measures, continuous testing and monitoring. The concept complies fully with the content for the two DFL leagues and only differs slightly in terms of organisation, for example the number of persons allocated to the set zones within and outside the predominately small stadiums. The aim is to provide the best possible medical facilities and maximum health protection for everybody involved.
The plan is for the FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga to restart on Friday, 29 May (from 14.00 CET) with the match between VfL Wolfsburg and FC Köln as part of matchday 17 matchday. There are still six matches to play. In the Women’s DFB Cup, the quarter-finals are due to be played on 2/3 June, the semi-finals on 10/11 June and the final in Cologne on 4 July.

Today sees Bayer 04 go head-to-head with their next direct rivals in the race for Champions League qualification (kick-off 15:30 CEST). Opponents Stuttgart are currently fifth in the table, level on points with the Werkself but one place below them due to a three-goal inferior goal difference. The Black and Reds' record at Bad Cannstatt tells a clearer story: they've not lost at VfB for over 16 years. One important factor in securing what would be three crucial points away from home is Leverkusen's strength on the counter-attack. Whilst Stuttgart are also extremely dangerous going forward, they will be without their captain. Today’s matchday news.

It's a thrilling situation: as the season draws to a close, Stuttgart and Bayer 04 are heading into the home stretch almost neck and neck. After 32 games, with 17 wins, seven draws and eight defeats each, both teams are on 58 points. Even in terms of goals scored, VfB and the Werkself are level on 66. The Black and Reds have conceded just three fewer goals (43) than their rivals (46), which is why they sit one place behind fourth-placed Leverkusen. This Saturday, 9 May (kick-off: 15.30 CEST), the two teams go head to head at the MHP Arena in Stuttgart. The lowdown on our next opponents.
