Mia Eickmann joins Borussia Mönchengladbach
Bayer 04 Leverkusen have released midfielder Mia Eickmann from the contract due to run out in the summer. The 21-year-old has signed for second division Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Eickmann joined Leverkusen from her hometown club SV Alberweiler in 2021. She first played for the Bayer 04 U23 side scoring eleven goals in 44 games. Last season she moved up to the Bundesliga squad but only made two appearances. The former Germany U23 international played nine games this season in the Regional League West (one goal) and appeared for the first team in two matches.
“Due to her limited time on the pitch, Mia is looking for new a challenge at Mönchengladbach," said Achim Feifel, Bayer 04 Women's team sporting director: "We would like to thank her for her commitment and wish her all the best for the future."
