The three-time world champion 'DETO' on PlayStation 4 in the big finals tournament, this year being played online due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, was focused and concentrated – and in the mood for scoring goals. The 4-3 victory in the opening match against 'PGEORGE7_' was followed first by a 2-2 draw against 'SALZOR', which the #B04eSports player thought he should have won. After that, Wollin let rip and celebrated three overall wins with a total of 20 goals scored.
The performances on the night are not a coincidence as the group winner revealed following the opening encounters. "During the break in play, I've worked hard on my game and my mentality and often played using the 85 mode," said the overjoyed Leverkusen player. "It's not often I can say my game was really satisfactory – but I can say that today."
The second participant in Black and Red had to bow out of the finals tournament. Fabian 'B04_DUBZJE' de Cae on Xbox One in the group of death (including the German champion 'MEGABIT') finished fifth, which meant he just missed out on going through to the Round of 16. "It's a pity Fabi didn't manage it. He got us through to the Grand Final with important points and goals in the Club Championship," said his partner on the console ahead of Round of 16 and possibly quarter-final ties (from 18.00 CET/ live auf Twitch: b04esports) and he added: "I'll give 100% for us all and each individual game is crucial!" In the Round of 16, 'DETO' faces Fabio 'FIFABIO97' Sabbagh who finished fourth in Group B.

This special event showed once again how strong Bayer 04 are as a team: As part of ‘BarmeniaGothaer gives joy’, the Werkself players Edmond Tapsoba, Ibrahim Maza and Christian Kofane supported the sale of individually designed T-shirts for a good cause at the Fanwelt on Thursday. Several hundred fans came to take part in the charity campaign.
