Marc and Sean Landwehr to represent Bayer 04 eSports for another year
eSports players Marc and Sean Landwehr have extended their contracts with Bayer 04 for a further year following a successful 2023/24 season.
In the past season, Marc ‘Marc_Ldw23’ came fourth in the VBL Grand Final and took part in the eChampions League. Sean ‘SEAN_LDW07’ made it to 13th place at the FC Pro Open in London and also won the VBL International Series. Together, the two cousins reached the top eight in the VBL Club Championship. Josua Lehr, Head of Pre-Sales & Product Development B2B: “We are delighted to be embarking on another season together with Marc and Sean. Both boys delivered strong performances last season and represented Bayer 04 worthily on the virtual pitch. Together, we want to build on their good performances and take the next step in the new season.”
Landwehr: “Want to go one better”
The 2024/25 season will be Marc’s fifth under the Bayer cross. The 22-year-old commented on his extension: “I'm looking forward to another year under the cross on the virtual pitch. We were able to celebrate some success last season and obviously want to go one better next season.” Sean is entering his second season in black and red. The 21-year-old was also delighted: “After such a successful season, I'm happy and motivated to continue playing for the club. Of course, I'm also delighted to be on the virtual pitch with my cousin Marc. We will give our all for the coming season and build on our past performances.”

The #B04eSports team will be competing in the Virtual Bundesliga (VBL), the DFB eCup and many other competitions in the coming season in this new look as they represent the colours of Bayer 04 on the virtual pitch.

BA04 Football Academy Guangzhou visits Leverkusen
Exciting experiences and exclusive insights into the Werkself and the BayArena awaited the young footballers from the BA04 Football Academy Guangzhou in China during their visit to the Rhineland this week. As well as taking part in a joint training session with the Bayer 04 Football Academy, the youngsters marvelled at the Bundesliga club’s stadium during a guided tour. The highlight of the visit was a private press conference with former Bayer 04 striker Stefan Kießling, during which he shared tips from his own career with the young players. On Saturday afternoon, 10 October, the group will round off their visit by supporting the Werkself in the away match in Mainz.

‘The standard is getting higher and higher: Junior Talent Day at Kurtekotten with 90 girls
Fun, games and promising talent: At the fourth Bayer 04 Junior Girls’ Talent Day at the Kurtekotten training centre, 90 football-mad girls had the chance to put themselves forward for the Werkself youth teams. During a 90-minute training session, children born between 2011 and 2019 had the chance to demonstrate their skills.

Interactive health checks, cancer screening and more: Health Day at the BayArena
Despite the international break, numerous Werkself fans turned up at the BayArena on Saturday 3 October. The occasion: Bayer 04, together with Bayer Vital and main sponsor BarmeniaGothaer, organised a Health Day. In the stadium’s Premium Lounge, guests listened to fascinating talks on the subject of cancer, featuring, amongst others, Bayer 04 record appearance holder Rüdiger Vollborn and former Werkself player Hans Sarpei. Afterwards, young and old alike enjoyed interactive stations such as a grip strength test and eye pupil test.
