#B04eSports: Still top of the North West division

A look at the table in the North West division of the VBL Club Championship is a pleasure for every Black and Red fan: After four matchdays, the Bayer 04 eSports players are top of the Virtual Bundesliga (VBL). The lead over their competitors has been reduced – due to their results on matchdays three and four.

The thoroughly successful first double matchday (5-2 against Holstein Kiel, 9-0 against FC Schalke 04) Was followed by less successful clashes on Tuesday night. The early evening brought a 5-2 defeat against VfL Bochum.

Marc ‘MARC_LDW23’ Landwehr started the evening with a one-vs-one on PlayStation 5 – and he conceded a goal in added time from a free kick to draw 2-2. Last week's previously impressive performance by Fabian ‘B04_DUBZJE’ de Cae was not repeated. He was on the wrong end of a 2-0 scoreline on Xbox Series S/X. The doubles match against the club from Castroper Straße ended all square at 1-1.

draw against Hannover 96

The matches against Hannover 96 followed later on Tuesday night. The team from Lower Saxony have started the new season as strongly as the Black and Reds. ‘MARC_LDW23’ did not give anything away to his Hannover 96 rival Riad ‘H96_RIAD’ Fazlija as he clocked up a convincing 3-0 victory.

‘B04_DUBZJE’ on Xbox lost 2-1 to his opponent Jannik ‘H96_JANNIK’ Berg. A goalless draw in the doubles produced a final result of 4-4.

Wolves and st paUli await

And the ‘North German championship’ continues for the #B04eSports players: Next Tuesday, 23 November, the opponents are VfL Wolfsburg (from 18.00 CET) and FC St. Pauli (from 20.00 CET). Both North German clubs are waiting for their chance behind league leaders Leverkusen with four (Wolfsburg) and three (St. Pauli) points less.
