
The Werkself eSports players started the evening with the fixture against VfL Wolfsburg on matchday 22 – with a 2 vs 2 encounter between Marc ‘MARC_LDW23’ Landwehr and Furkan ‘FURKY’ Kayacik for Leverkusen and the VfL eSports players Fabio ‘WOB_FABIO’ Immerthal and Bastian ‘PIPE CREW’ Rupsch. The game ended with a 3-1 victory for the Black and Reds. The following 1 vs 1 between Landwehr and Immerthal also ended in a win for Bayer 04 (4-3) thus securing the first overall win of the evening.
Next up were SC Paderborn. Landwehr and Kayacik started the matchday with a 2-1 win in the 2 vs 2 against Jonas ‘JONNY’ Wirth and Yannik ‘WILDYSTLER’ Büscher. The second three points of the night game with Landwehr clocking up a convincing 4-1 win in the 1 vs 1 against Wirth.
The 2 vs 2 against FC Köln, the third opponents for Bayer 04 on the night, ended all square with a 2-2 draw at the end of the virtual 90 minutes against Tim ‘THESTRXNGER’ Katnawatos and Denis ‘DENIS’ Müller. The on-form Leverkusen player Landwehr notched up another 4-1 win in the final 1 vs 1 against Müller giving the Black and Reds an advantage going into the third and deciding derby game. This saw Kayacik beat his FC Köln opponent Katnawatos 4-2 giving the Werkself all three points again.
Thanks to the nine points, the Bayer 04 eSports team have climbed up to seventh place in the table in the North West division. Another positive: After the top three in the division, the Leverkusen have the best goal difference (+14).
The #B04eSports team are back in action in the VBL Club Championship on Tuesday 14 February: Hansa Rostock are the opponents on matchday 25. That starts at 18.00 CET. The Leverkusen team then play FC St Pauli (from 19.30 CET) on matchday 26.
