The night started with a setback against Schalke: Marc 'MARC_LDW23' Landwehr and Sean 'SEAN_LDW07' Landwehr were on the wrong end of a 1-0 scoreline in the 2 vs 2 encounter with Bastian ‘BUBSCHI10’ Rupsch and Max ‘ANTIMAX’ Eggenkämper. Rupsch then went on to beat Marc Landwehr 3-1 resulting in an early defeat for the Black and Reds on Matchday 30.
Matchday 31 against VfL Wolfsburg produced a flood of goals for Leverkusen. The Landwehr cousins first clocked up a 7-1 victory in the 2 vs 2 against Benedikt ‘BENECR7X’ Bauer and Fabio ‘WOB_FABIO’ Immerthal. Marc Landwehr did then lose 3-1 to Immerthal but Sean Landwehr secured three points for the #B04eSports team with a 5-0 win against Wolfsburg's Bauer.
The triple matchday ended with more important points against VBL newcomers Fortuna Düsseldorf who are also fighting for a place in the play-offs in ninth place in the table. The 2 vs 2 between the Leverkusen duo and Joe ‘JH7’ Hellmann and Michael ‘DEOS’ Haan ended all square at 1-1. Marc Landwehr went on to win 1-0 against Kai ‘HENSOO’ Hense and Sean Landwehr rounded off the matchday with a 3-2 victory against Hellmann.
The Black and Reds remain seventh in the North West Division with the six points gained. In addition to the top two teams from each division, who qualify for the finals of the German Club Championship on 23 and 24 March after completion of the league fixtures, the teams in positions three to eight in both divisions go through to the play-offs for the remaining places in the finals.
The #B04eSports team have two matches remaining in the league: the first is a derby against FC Köln on Tuesday 27 February, starting at 20.30 CET, and a week later is the final league encounter against FC Magdeburg from 19.00 CET.

Lying third in the Bundesliga, the Werkself made a faltering start in 2026 after the winter break, but gradually rediscovered winning ways and, as in the previous campaign, were among the top 16 in Europe and the top four in the DFB Pokal. In the Bundesliga, the Werkself also remained in the race for Champions League qualification right to the end. However, because setbacks repeatedly crept into the Werkself's performances between good displays and crucial games, it was not quite enough to secure a UCL spot in the end. A season with many ups and downs brought sixth place and qualification for the UEFA Europa League. Part II of the review of the 2025/26 season.

Following the final match of the 2025/26 season, the prevailing feeling was naturally one of disappointment after missing out on qualification for the Champions League. The Werkself finished the Bundesliga in sixth place, meaning they'll start the 2026/27 campaign in the Europa League. "But to talk negatively about everything now because of that would be wrong," stressed captain Robert Andrich following the final game, knowing that the past year at Bayer 04 was marked, more than almost any other, by the start of a new era and the courage to change – and in particular, the belief in a positive direction. Everyone was aware this process would need time. The first part of the 2025/26 season review.
