There was a curious start to the night from a Black and Red perspective: New signing Furkan ‘FURKY’ Kayacik, who made his debut for the Werkself, took an early lead in the one-on-one game against Wolfsburg. Then the connection went down. The referees’ decision: Start again at 0-0. The following 90 virtual minutes against Khalid ‘KHALIDGRL03’ Gürel ended all square at 1-1.
#B04eSports youngster Marc ‘MARC_LDW23’ Landwehr was on Xbox Series S/X on the night, as both Paul ‘B04_PAUL’ Degner and stalwart Fabian ‘B04_DUBZJE’ de Cae were sidelined due to illness. The 19-year-old secured a goalless draw with VfL as well as in the following doubles with ‘FURKY’. The overall result against the Wolves was a 3-3 draw.
The clash with FC St. Pauli started later in the evening – and it brought the first win for ‘FURKY’ in a #B04eSports shirt. The 22-year-old sealed a 2-1 victory on PS5 against Kamal ‘FCSP_Kamal’ Kamboj. His teammate ‘MARC_LDW23’ again drew 0-0 in his game.
As the two vs two match against St. Pauli has yet to be played, Bayer 04 are currently 4-1 up. The snapshot of the table in the North-West division shows Kayacik and Co. in third place.
After four matches in top spot, the Black and Reds now face the league leaders themselves on Tuesday 30 November. The Leverkusen eSports players meet Hamburg SV virtually at 18.00 CET. That is followed from 21.30 CET with the game against tenth-placed SC Paderborn.

A season with many ups and downs brought sixth place and qualification for the UEFA Europa League. Part II of the review of the 2025/26 season.

Following the final match of the 2025/26 season, the prevailing feeling was naturally one of disappointment after missing out on qualification for the Champions League. The Werkself finished the Bundesliga in sixth place, meaning they'll start the 2026/27 campaign in the Europa League. "But to talk negatively about everything now because of that would be wrong," stressed captain Robert Andrich following the final game, knowing that the past year at Bayer 04 was marked, more than almost any other, by the start of a new era and the courage to change – and in particular, the belief in a positive direction. Everyone was aware this process would need time. The first part of the 2025/26 season review.
