#B04eSports: BULJI and Bayer 04 part company

Personnel changes in the eSports team at Bayer 04: Mario 'Bulji' Lovrinovic is leaving the Werkself after one year where the 19-year-old eSports player gained his first experience in the VBL Club Championship and the DFB eCup.

"We thank Bulji for his commitment and wish him all the best for the future personally and from a sporting perspective," said Julian Kaiser, eSports manager at Bayer 04.

Lovrinovic made his first appearances in the VBL Club Championship and the DFB eCup in his time under the Bayer Cross. Together with Furkan ‘FURKY’ Kayacik He took Bayer 04 to the Round of 16 in the official eSports cup competition at the off-line event in Frankfurt where the Werkself finished in the top eight teams in Germany.

qualified as new eSports talent 

Lovrinovic was the successor to Paul 'B04_PAUL' Degner as the new eSports talent at Bayer 04 in the summer of 2022. The Munster-born gamer progressed through several qualifying rounds against a wide range of competitors to become the next #B04 eSports talent. Lovrinovic won out in the finals at the new gaming lounge at the BayArena.

Continuity under the Cross: After the successful season in 2024/25 with reaching the final of the VBL Club Championship, the two Leverkusen e-sports players Marc and Sean Landwehr have extended their contracts at Bayer 04 by an additional two years. Marc is thereby in his sixth year and Sean in his third year with the Werkself. Together with e-talent Marcus Hüttemann, who has also extended his stay at Bayer 04 Bayer year, completes the current squad for the 2025/26 season.

#B04eSports: New Chapter, Same Grind – The eSports jersey for the 2025/26 season

A new look and new kit supplier for the 2025/26 campaign: Bayer 04 in tandem with sports equipment manufacturer New Balance present the official kit for the Leverkusen eSports players the coming season. New partner Synology appears on the top right of the jersey. Menswear outfitters Lerros is still the main eSports sponsor and Niedax remains the sleeve partner. The jersey is available now from the Bayer 04 online shop and the Fanwelt.

Numerous Bayer 04 players in 2024/25 Team of the Season

Bayer 04 are again strongly represented in this year's Bundesliga Team of the Season from the games manufacturer EA Sports. Five Werkself players have been voted into the top XI for the 2024/25 season, a duo from the Bayer 04 Women's team are in the female Bundesliga TOTS. Bayer 04 were well represented last season with six male players in the top eleven, the most players from one club.

#B04eSports: Unbeaten Leverkusen bow out to RBL in final

A brilliant weekend for the Leverkusen eSports players at the VBL CC finals in Cologne ended without the deserved reward. After the first day of the tournament with only victories in the group phase, Marc and Sean Landwehr overcame last year's champions SC Paderborn 07 at the semi-final stage on Sunday – but then lost in the final to the now sole VBL CC record champions RB Leipzig.
