The Bayer 04 console players kicked off Tuesday night with a match against Hamburg SV, the current leaders of the North-West division. Marc ‘Marc_LDW23’ Landwehr " began with a one-on-one encounter on PlayStation 5. It looked like the game would end goalless but the Leverkusen player conceded late on. A draw would have been fair given the parity in shots on goal.
That was followed by the one-on-one on Xbox for Fabian ‘B04_DUBZJE’ de Cae. The recovered 24-year-old drew with his Hamburg opposite number Steffen ‘FUNINO’ Pöppe with neither side scoring.
In the following two vs two, ‘FURKY’ swapped his commentator mic for his controller with the new signing alongside ‘MARC_LDW23’ – with success! The Black and Red duo beat HSV 1-0 thanks to a late goal with Bayer 04 securing an overall result of 4-4 against the league leaders.
The team identity of the Leverkusen players was not only evident on the consoles: ‘B04_DUBZJE’ and Paul ‘B04_PAUL’ Degner stepped in for 'Furky' during the two vs two clash as presenters of the live stream.
The games against SC Paderborn 07 began later in the evening with the Werkself starting with the same players as against Hamburg. And ‘MARC_LDW23’ was able to pick up three points in his one-on-one and PS 5: There was a 2-1 win for the first three points against Paderborn’s Jannis ‘JISTENNSQ’ Pütz. The following one-on-one on Xbox again ended goalless for ‘B04_DUBZJE’ and the Black and Reds were on the wrong end of a 1-0 scoreline in the two vs two game.
The results make Kayacik and Co. the best defence of all the teams in the North-West division: They have only conceded 19 goals in total so far.
After eight VBL Club Champions matchdays, the #B04eSports players are fifth in division on 35 points. The gap to the top spot is only five points. Bayer 04 are back in action next Tuesday, 7 December, with matches against Werder Bremen (18.00 CET) and Hansa Rostock (20.00 CET). The Sports Tribunal of the German Football Association (DFB) has fined Bayer 04 Leverkusen €185,000 for spectators setting off pyrotechnic devices during a total of five competitive matches. This relates to four Bundesliga matches and the DFB Pokal semi-final against Bayern Munich. The highest individual fine relates to the away match at FC Köln at the end of April.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen have extended the contract with U19 goalkeeper Simeon Rapsch. The Germany youth international goalkeeper has signed a long-term contract with the Werkself running to 30 June 2029. The 18-year-old joined Leverkusen from FC Viktoria Köln in the summer of 2024.

Ken Izekor is leaving Bayer 04 Leverkusen to join third-tier side Alemannia Aachen with immediate effect. The 19-year-old centre-forward joined the club from Alemannia in 2018, and Izekor is now returning to his hometown.

In the latest update, published to mark the start of the new season, four current Werkself players – alongside loanee Francis Onyeka – feature on the list.
