The Bayer 04 console players kicked off Tuesday night with a match against Hamburg SV, the current leaders of the North-West division. Marc ‘Marc_LDW23’ Landwehr " began with a one-on-one encounter on PlayStation 5. It looked like the game would end goalless but the Leverkusen player conceded late on. A draw would have been fair given the parity in shots on goal.
That was followed by the one-on-one on Xbox for Fabian ‘B04_DUBZJE’ de Cae. The recovered 24-year-old drew with his Hamburg opposite number Steffen ‘FUNINO’ Pöppe with neither side scoring.
In the following two vs two, ‘FURKY’ swapped his commentator mic for his controller with the new signing alongside ‘MARC_LDW23’ – with success! The Black and Red duo beat HSV 1-0 thanks to a late goal with Bayer 04 securing an overall result of 4-4 against the league leaders.
The team identity of the Leverkusen players was not only evident on the consoles: ‘B04_DUBZJE’ and Paul ‘B04_PAUL’ Degner stepped in for 'Furky' during the two vs two clash as presenters of the live stream.
The games against SC Paderborn 07 began later in the evening with the Werkself starting with the same players as against Hamburg. And ‘MARC_LDW23’ was able to pick up three points in his one-on-one and PS 5: There was a 2-1 win for the first three points against Paderborn’s Jannis ‘JISTENNSQ’ Pütz. The following one-on-one on Xbox again ended goalless for ‘B04_DUBZJE’ and the Black and Reds were on the wrong end of a 1-0 scoreline in the two vs two game.
The results make Kayacik and Co. the best defence of all the teams in the North-West division: They have only conceded 19 goals in total so far.
After eight VBL Club Champions matchdays, the #B04eSports players are fifth in division on 35 points. The gap to the top spot is only five points. Bayer 04 are back in action next Tuesday, 7 December, with matches against Werder Bremen (18.00 CET) and Hansa Rostock (20.00 CET). Bayer 04 have ended Artem Stepanov’s loan deal at Nürnberg and agreed a new loan to Utrecht in the Netherlands. The Ukrainian striker did not play as much as hoped for at the Bundesliga 2 club and will now continue his development in the Eredivisie for the rest of 2025/26.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen have extended the contract with Germany U19 international Montrell Culbreath. The attacking midfielder and right winger has penned a deal with the Bundesliga club that runs to 30 June 2030. Culbreath has played for the Werkself as a youth player since 2023. Last December, he scored his first Bundesliga goal for the Leverkusen first team in the Bayer 04 3-1 away win at RB Leipzig.
