DFB Pokal: Werkself meet SV Sandhausen in the second round

The next opponents in the 2023/24 DFB Pokal have been confirmed: The Werkself are away to SV Sandhausen in the second round. That was the outcome of the draw held at the German Football Museum in Dortmund on Sunday 1 October.

"We are looking forward to the game against the third division side and long-standing second-tier club. Our clear aim is to go through to the Round of 16. We definitely want to do that," said Simon Rolfes, Bayer 04 sporting managing director, in response to the draw.

The second round ties in the DFB Pokal will be played on Tuesday 31 October and Wednesday 1 November. Fixture dates and confirmation of ticket sales will be reported here at bayer04.de.

The Round of 16 will be played on 5/6 December. The quarter-finals are planned for 30/31 January 2024 and 6/7 February 2024. The semi-finals will be held on 2/3 April and the final in Berlin will be played on 25 May 2024.

Second game, second draw in the UEFA Champions League 2025/26: The Werkself were held to a 1-1 draw by Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven on matchday two in the league phase. After an early but brief setback in the form of an offside goal by Ivan Perisic for the visitors (5'), the Werkself took control and created numerous good chances in the first half.
