
The cup tie against Carl Zeiss Jena will be the third match for Bayer 04 in the 2024/25 campaign. After the season starts with the DFL Super cup, the champions of Germany begin the new Bundesliga season six days later on Friday 23 August. Then the Black and Reds will be in action in the first round of the DFB Pokal. As soon as details of ticket sales are confirmed we will make a further announcement on the Bayer 04 media channels.
The second round of the DFB Pokal is on 29/30 October and the Round of 16 ties are on 3/4 December. The quarter-finals follow on 4/5 and 25/6 February 2025 with the semi-finals set for 1/2 April 2025. The final at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin will be on 24 May 2025.

The Bayer 04 Women suffered a setback in the race for third place in the Bundesliga table. Coach Roberto Pätzold's team lost 1-0 at home to direct rivals TSG Hoffenheim on Sunday afternoon, with a penalty after two minutes deciding the match. With 32 points and a game in hand, TSG have moved above the Werkself, who remain on 31 points. There is now a three-week international break before the remaining seven Bundesliga matches.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen will have to manage without defender Loïc Badé for the time being. The Frenchman suffered a muscle injury in his right thigh in Saturday’s 1-0 Bundesliga defeat at FC Union Berlin. The diagnosis was the result of an MRI scan this Sunday morning.
