"With Alexanderwerk AG we have gained an internationally active partner that not only has a more than 130-year history but has also moved with the times and today has technically demanding solutions in their sector," said Markus Breglec, chief marketing & innovation officer.
Alexanderwerk AG will have a comprehensive presence at the BayArena in the forthcoming season including at Werkself Bundesliga home games on the LED boards around the pitch and the LED boards in the upper tier. In addition, the rights package for the Remscheid company include use of an exclusive executive box on the south side of the stadium.
Fatih Yavuz, managing director of Alexanderwerk AG, said: "We are proud to be an active Bayer 04 Premium Partner and we wish the club a successful season in 2023/24. As a company with roots in the immediate area it's even better that this partnership has become a reality. The long-term relationship with our customers and business partners is a key element of our success. That also needs a strong team. For us, as a 'compaction team', football is a binding element for us to position ourselves as a global player with customers and employees. The partnership with Bayer 04 will contribute to significantly increasing the presence of our company and market recognition."

Profile of Alexanderwerk AG:
Alexanderwerk AG is the leading manufacturer of high-technology compaction and granulation machines. As an internationally active company with headquarters in Remscheid, Alexanderwerk has provided high-quality and technically advanced machines and solutions for the chemical, pharmaceutical, food and life science industries for over 130 years.
The first step from the exclusive production machines for the food industry through to the chemical and pharmaceutical industry came in 1953 and 1954 when Alexanderwerk developed moist granulation machines for industrial use and supplied the first machines to the Bayer Works in Leverkusen. More efficient machines were developed shortly after that and also delivered to the Bayer Works for the production of acetylsalicylic acid (Aspirin®)
From major corporations through to special providers or compaction companies: The solutions from Alexanderwerk are suitable for the production of tablets, capsules, life science products, flavourings, instant powders, sweeteners and much more.

Standing on the pitch where the Werkself players perform - for many Bayer 04 club members, this wish became reality at this year's Members' kickabout. Around 400 active participants of all ages took the opportunity to experience the BayArena from a new and special perspective. And there was also plenty going on in the stands: The event attracted more than 1,000 visitors in total and provided an atmospheric end to the season.

Lying third in the Bundesliga, the Werkself made a faltering start in 2026 after the winter break, but gradually rediscovered winning ways and, as in the previous campaign, were among the top 16 in Europe and the top four in the DFB Pokal. In the Bundesliga, the Werkself also remained in the race for Champions League qualification right to the end. However, because setbacks repeatedly crept into the Werkself's performances between good displays and crucial games, it was not quite enough to secure a UCL spot in the end. A season with many ups and downs brought sixth place and qualification for the UEFA Europa League. Part II of the review of the 2025/26 season.

Following the final match of the 2025/26 season, the prevailing feeling was naturally one of disappointment after missing out on qualification for the Champions League. The Werkself finished the Bundesliga in sixth place, meaning they'll start the 2026/27 campaign in the Europa League. "But to talk negatively about everything now because of that would be wrong," stressed captain Robert Andrich following the final game, knowing that the past year at Bayer 04 was marked, more than almost any other, by the start of a new era and the courage to change – and in particular, the belief in a positive direction. Everyone was aware this process would need time. The first part of the 2025/26 season review.
