The German Football Association (DFB) have appointed Sven Jablonski as the referee for the top match – this will be his 50th match as a referee in the Bundesliga. The 31-year-old from Bremen will be assisted by Norbert Grudzinski and Sascha Thielert. The fourth official is Frank Willenborg and Tobias Stieler is the VAR referee. Young plants he officiated two Werkself games last season: the goalless draw at Wolfsburg at the start of the campaign and the 5-2 home win against VfB in the second half of the season.
At the end of the first 45 minutes of #B04FCB, the stadium announcers Pitti Dahl/Tobias Ufer will speak to Dirk Dreher pitchside. The general manager of the Bayer 04 Veterans will update fans at the BayArena on the planned charity match between the Werkself and a City of Leverkusen Eleven.

Tickets for the game will be available at today's Bundesliga match with funds raised going to help victims of the flood disaster. The total of 3,000 tickets for the match on Wednesday, 10 November (kick-off: 18.30 CET) at the Ulrich Haberland Stadium are also available from the Bayer 04 online shop. Tickets go on sale from 13.30 CET. The tickets cost five euros with all funds raised going to the Leverkusen Community Foundation.
As usual, Werkself Radio will be on air for the top match against Bayern Munich. The commentators Cedric Pick and Niko Hartmann will report live from the BayArena starting 30 minutes before kick-off. There is also Black and Red audio coverage by the new Bayer 04 app or at bayer04.de. #B04FCB is available on TV via the streaming service DAZN.
There is important information for all Werkself fans wanting to travel by train from Cologne and Düsseldorf to the top match at the BayArena: During the autumn holidays – including this Sunday – there are planned construction works on the new RRX line around Leverkusen with no trains running between the two cities. Affected are the S6 and the Regional trains 1 and 5.
As an alternative it is possible to use the Leverkusen-Schlebusch station as the Cologne to Wuppertal line is not affected. Further information is available HERE.
There are additional Wupsi special buses on this matchday for travel to and from the BayArena. All special buses are free of charge using a physical or virtual match ticket for Werkself home games. That applies to all journeys with buses and trains in second class on the Rhein-Sieg (VRS) and the Rhein-Ruhr (VRR) networks. Timetables for the special buses are available HERE.
All information on entry criteria is available HERE.
Bayer 04 wish former player Dirk Hielscher a happy 62nd birthday. Hielscher joined the Leverkusen U19s in 1981 from SV Schlebusch before moving up to play for the Black and Red second team two years later. In 1985/86 he was in the senior squad where he played 20 games and scored one goal.
Constant Djakpa is also celebrating his birthday – he is 34 today. The left-footer joined Leverkusen in 2008 from the Romanian club Pandurii Târgu Jiu and he made nine appearances for the Werkself. After a loan spell at Hannover 96, the Ivory Coast international signed for Eintracht Frankfurt in 2011. Many happy returns to both of you.

It took exactly 60 minutes for the Werkself to take the lead through a perfectly finished counter-attack by Patrik Schick in the first leg of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League play-off at Olympiacos. Referring to the meeting in the league phase and the initially squandered opportunities, coach Kasper Hjulmand said afterwards: "I thought: 'Oh no, déjà-vu.'" But after the opening goal, it took just 144 seconds for the Czech to spark more wild celebrations among those in black and red in the Greek cauldron, when Schick nodded in Alejandro Grimaldo's corner. Much to the delight of the Bayer 04 fans, his teammates and his coach, who had warm words for the striker in the aftermath. The Werkself Review.

Bayer 04 and Olympiacos had only met twice before the current UEFA Champions campaign. After the encounter on Matchday 7 of this season’s league phase, the Werkself travel to face the Greek side for the second time in just four weeks for the knockout play-off first leg.
