As we all know, the Werkself are still unbeaten this season and can now become the first team ever to complete an entire Bundesliga campaign without defeat. A win would also make Bayer 04 only the second club to reach the 90-point mark in Germany’s top flight, after the Bayern Munich sides of 2013/14 (90) and 2012/13 (91).
Three points would also be very valuable to Augsburg. Victory for the visitors, combined with a Freiburg loss at Union Berlin, would see them finish eighth and potentially earn a spot in the UEFA Conference League. The Bavarians have looked on course for Europe for much of this year, especially after a run of 13 points from five games across February and March. However, Jess Thorup’s side have managed only one win, paired with five defeats, since April. In fact, they have lost the last four in a row, which equals the club record and is currently the longest losing streak in the Bundesliga. Find out more about Augsburg in our opposition profile.
Together with partners Früh Kölsch, Bitburger and Coca Cola, Bayer 04 is offering refreshments at today's home game in honour of the new champions. All visitors to the BayArena will be given a coupon to redeem for a free drink. You will receive this when you enter the stadium.
Just before kick-off in this last home game of the season, Peter Lorenz & Band will perform the anthem “Bayer 04 - Wir Steh'n zu Dir” live in the BayArena. Fans are of course invited to sing along. Lorenz and Dierk Hill will also be guests at the half-time talk with stadium announcer duo Petra “Pitti” Dahl and Tobias Ufer.
The moments associated with winning the club’s first league title will last forever. Unfortunately, however, there are also many Werkself fans who were not able to experience that day when we won it against Werder Bremen. For this reason, we as the Bayer 04 family would like to create a very special moment today. After 19:04 minutes have been played, all fans in the BayArena are invited to pause for a moment and think of all those who would have liked to join us in celebrating these special moments, but who are sadly no longer with us. The game will continue as normal during this time.
We ask all fans to remain in their seats after the end of the match so that the trophy can be presented. Around 15 minutes after the final whistle, DFL CEOs Dr Marc Lenz and Dr Steffen Merkel will officially present the Meisterschale to the Werkself. The team will then do a lap of honour around the stadium with the trophy for the fans. The team would like to share this special moment with everyone in the stadium. So please stay in your seats to make it an unforgettable moment for everyone.
Congratulations on the club’s first league title have reached Bayer 04 from all over the world and in various ways. Bayer 04's main sponsor Barmenia has come up with something very special in this regard. At 10.04pm, around 600 drones will rise into the Leverkusen night sky above the BayArena and review the Werkself's season with a 12-minute choreography. So, all fans in and around Leverkusen should find a good spot - preferably several hundred metres away from the stadium. You probably have the best view along Bismarckstraße, which leads to the stadium. A live stream will also be available on Barmenia's Instagram channel. More information can be found at meinkusen.de/oben.
The German FA (DFB) have appointed Matthias Jöllenbeck as the referee for today’s game. The 37-year-old has previously overseen four Werkself fixtures, producing two wins and two draws. His assistants are Christof Günsch and Jonas Weickenmeier. Tobias Stieler is the VAR.
Anyone wanting to discover the latest information ahead of the game can take a look at the new Werkself Live. The matchday magazine, which includes key facts and stats on the match, is available at the BayArena. Alternatively, it is available free online HERE.

As usual, Werkself Radio is available for anybody unable to be at today's game. The audio broadcast in German begins 30 minutes before kick-off with commentary provided by Niko Hartmann and Cedric Pick. In addition, the live text update service will keep you up-to-date to ensure you don't miss any of the key match action. Both Werkself Radio and the live text update service are available at bayer04.de and in the Bayer 04 app.

It was a disappointing night in Athens: The Werkself lost 2-0 away to Olympiacos on Matchday 7 in the league phase of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League campaign. In a match that was intense and fiery from the outset, the high-pressing home side made the better start and took the lead through Costinha on two minutes. Although the Werkself had a number of chances to equalise, the clinical Greek side increased the lead to 2-0 shortly before half-time (45+1’). In the second half, Leverkusen once again gave their all and showed total commitment but, despite their best efforts, the Black and Reds were unable to break down the Olympiacos defence on the night.
