Loads of fun at the start of the week – trio missing

With the 3-0 away win at Wolfsburg, the Werkself are able to build up confidence ahead of the big game at the weekend at home to Bayern Munich (Saturday, 15.30 CET). The victory against Wolfsburg was not only the first competitive win under Peter Bosz – his players also outstripped all the other Bundesliga teams by covering 124.3 kilometres. The Black and Reds have covered the most distance in Germany's top flight this term.

No wonder that the focus in training on Monday afternoon – as was the case with yesterday's session – was on recovery. After reviewing the Wolfsburg match, the squad spent 45 minutes on the training ground in wet and cold conditions. The session covered passing and heading drills and finished with the keepie-uppie competition with the group of Lucas Alario, Charles Aránguiz, Leon Bailey, Julian Brandt, Aleksandar Dragovic, Sam Schreck, Isaac Kiese Thelin and Leon Bailey clearly enjoying that winning feeling again.

Wendell plus Lars and Sven Bender missed the session. While the Brazilian  is still receiving treatment on a thigh muscle injury picked up in the Wolfsburg game, the Bender twins completed an individual session in the gym at the BayArena.

All eyes will be focused on preparing for the tough encounter with FC Bayern, starting with the final open training session on Tuesday (10.30 CET). And it is fair to expect there will be a repeat of last Tuesday with a significantly more testing workout...
