It’s the second nomination this season for both Grimaldo and Frimpong. The left-back was up for September’s award for the Bundesliga’s best player, while the right-back was among the contenders for October, which was won by teammate Florian Wirtz.
Grimaldo scored three goals and provided an assist in the Bundesliga in November, including a brace in the 3-2 win over Hoffenheim. Frimpong chipped in with an assist from his three league outings last month.
Bayer 04 fans have until 23:59 CET on Sunday, 10 December to cast their votes. The nominees alongside Grimaldo and Frimpong are Bayern Munich duo Harry Kane and Leroy Sané, plus Xavi Simons of RB Leipzig and VfB Stuttgart’s Deniz Undav. Votes from fans account for 40 percent of the final tally, with a further 30 percent each from the 18 club captains and selected experts.
