Schick sidelined by muscle injury

Bayer 04 will have to manage without top striker Patrik Schick in the immediate future. An MRI scan today (Sunday) confirmed the suspected torn muscle in the left calf of the Czech Republic international suffered in Friday night's Bundesliga match away to Mainz 05.

The 26-year-old picked up the injury at the start of the second half in Mainz after the centre-forward had scored his 20th goal of the season for the Werkself in the first 45. Schick will be out of action for several weeks.

The last-minute madness continues: Bayer 04 secured a 2-2 draw against VfB Stuttgart on Bundesliga matchday 31. Chris Führich and Deniz Undav (57') put the visitors 2-0 up after a goalless first half.
