A week before today's match against the Werkself, the last game ahead of the start of the Eredivisie, Fortuna Sittard played Bundesliga 2 club SV Elversberg. In the closing third of the game, the Dutch side turn round a 2-0 deficit to win 3-2 with the winner coming late on. Two goals were scored by Paul Gladon who moved to Limburg last summer after a period out of contract. And the former Köln player Dimitrios Limnios came in before the start of the season.
Daley Sinkgraven joined Fortuna Sittard in February this year. The long-standing Werkself player (2019 to 2023) returned to his home country after 18 months at the Spanish club UD Las Palmas. The currently injured full-back played for Ajax from December 2017 to June 2019 under Erik ten Hag who recommended his move to Bayer 04 at the time.
Around 400 fans are making their way to Sittard to support the Werkself at the ground. Tickets are available up to kick-off online at the Fortuna Sittard web shop as well as from the matchday ticket office (south stand).

The successor to Sergi Runge as head coach of the Bayer 04 U19 team has been decided. Following the Spaniard's appointment to Kasper Hjulmand's first team coaching staff, the current U17 head coach Kevin Brok (photo) will be responsible for the U19s until the end of the season. As a result, Benjamin Adam will also move up a year and will now coach the U17s instead of the U16s, also until the end of the season. The structure of the coaching and support staff will remain unchanged.
