Through our live text commentary we want to keep the fans, who are not at the stadium, up-to-date with all the key information in and around matches so they can also experience the match in our Bayer 04 way.
That is why we put the homepage in live commentary mode an hour before kick-off. What does that mean? It's simple: We have developed a matchday dashboard. Let's suppose you are fans of the Werkself and are living in Hamburg, Berlin or in Timbuktu. It doesn't matter where. You definitely don't always have the opportunity to get to the stadium but instead are sitting at your computer or tablet. Then you'll love the matchday dashboard.
This mode splits the screen into independent sections. The top of the dashboard contains the most important information such as scoreline, venue and date. On the one side, there is the live text commentary that our editors continually feed with information at games, including away matches. Match action, photos, goals, bookings, substitutions, atmosphere – it's all there. It's almost like being there yourself.
Our aim is to take you with us and let you share in everything to do with the current match. Of course, on the side of your screen with the live text commentary you'll be able to read the team line-ups including the players on the bench.
On the other side of the screen we offer you all matchday-relevant social media posts on our Bayer 04 channels. Here we also take into account your posts entered via Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. We value your opinions, input and ideas. In addition, we will provide you with all possible statistics on the Werkself and the opposition. The most important events in the match will be presented in chronological order on a timeline.
You can see all this without having to leave the live text commentary. You will find everything on the particular match bundle together and clearly presented on one screen – that can be a computer, laptop, tablet or smart phone. Of course, all the content is designed for all devices.

The second European away game takes the Werkself to the Portuguese capital Lisbon. Kasper Hjulmand's team will face record champions Benfica on Wednesday, 5 November (kick-off: 20:00 GMT, 21:00 CET) on matchday 4 in the league phase of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League. The Werkself beat Benfica 1-0 on Matchday 4 of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League league phase to seal three crucial points! Both teams had promising chances in the first half, but the contest was goalless at half-time. Substitute Patrik Schick headed in to score the only goal after the restart (65’). The home side went looking for an equaliser but Bayer 04 defended passionately to see out the storm.

The Werkself consolidated their position among the top teams in the Google Pixel Women’s Bundesliga thanks to a last-minute goal on Wednesday evening. Roberto Pätzold’s team beat Hamburger SV 2-1 at the Ulrich Haberland Stadium. Kristin Kögel (14’) and Caroline Kehrer (90’+5) scored for Bayer 04. The result takes Bayer 04 Women onto 19 points, third in the table behind top two Bayern Munich (25) and VfL Wolfsburg (22).
