
Tunisia’s national coach Alain Giresse called up the 1.96 metre tall Bayer 04 U19 central defender in a surprise move a couple of weeks ago and Lamti went on to make his full international debut against Iraq (2-0) last Friday. The youngster from the Rhineland has progressed through all the Bayer 04 junior teams but has never played for a Germany team.
Lamti, who trained with the first team under Peter Bosz, made a name for himself last season with impressive performances. The homegrown talent played the full 90 minutes in 24 of 26 games in the U19 Bundesliga (West) scoring two goals.
At the Africa Cup in Egypt, Tunisia face Angola (24 June, 19.00 CET), Mali (28 June, 16.30 CET) and Mauritania (2 July, 21.00 CET).

Bayer 04 have signed left-back Carolin Simon from champions Bayern Munich for the coming season. The 33-year-old former Germany international, who played for Leverkusen from 2013 to 2016, has signed a contract to 30 June 2028.
