Midfielder Dominik Kohr returns to Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the summer of 2017 after a three and a half years on loan at FC Augsburg. The 23-year-old has signed a contract to 2020 with his parent club.
“Dominik has turned into an established Bundesliga player in his time at Augsburg. The concept of giving our players match experience at other clubs and enabling them to move up to another level has worked perfectly in this case. That’s why we have taken up the buy-back option as agreed,” said sporting director Rudi Völler.
Dominik Kohr joined the Werkself in 2008 and moved on to FC Augsburg on loan in January 2014. In 2015, the versatile midfielder signed a contract to 2019 at Augsburg. In the current campaign, the two-time winner of the bronze Fritz Walter medal has made 21 Bundesliga appearances scoring twice and providing one assist along the way. The Germany U21 international (2 caps) has made 94 Bundesliga apperances and scored eight goals to date.
