Ibrahim Maza is Bundesliga Rookie of the Month for April 2026

Fans, captains and pundits have decided: Bayer 04 player Ibrahim Maza has been voted Bundesliga Rookie of the Month for April 2026. The 20-year-old Algerian won out against Yan Diomande (RB Leipzig) and Jens Castrop (Borussia Mönchengladbach). Maza has also been nominated as the Bundesliga Player of the Month for April. Fans can vote for him or his team-mate Alejandro Grimaldo up to 23:59 CEST on Sunday 26 April.

Ibrahim Maza has played the full 90 minutes in all three Bundesliga matches so far in April. The Algeria international scored in the 6-3 win against VfL Wolfsburg and also secured a penalty.

Maza, like team-mate Alejandro Grimaldo, is also up for the Bundesliga Player of the Month award for April. Fans can vote for them up to Sunday 26 April (23:59 CEST).

New seating for the BayArena - donation and reuse of existing seats

A fresh look for the BayArena: The Bayer 04 stadium will have new seating in the form of folding seats for the 2026/27 campaign that will ensure significantly improved seating comfort and simplified movement within the rows of seats. As part of routine replacement after 17 years, fans of the Werkself were able to purchase the existing seats, used to witness the first German league title in the club's history. In addition, a large proportion of the seats will be donated to charitable projects, primarily in the local region. Bayer 04 fans can look forward to new, functional folding seats for the season opener at the beginning of August - still in the club colours of black and red, of course.
