Striker Wieder had come off the bench to snatch a point for the Women’s team against promoted Leipzig with an overhead kick three minutes into added time.
The other nominees alongside the Leverkusen pair are Vanessa Fudalla (RB Leipzig), Manolis Saliakas (St. Pauli) and Charles Herrmann (Germany U17s). The October award had gone to Florian Wirtz with 45 percent of the votes, making it the 17th Goal of the Month winner for a Bayer 04 player. Captain Edmond Tapsoba gave his new (and old) teammate a friendly shove forward to take in the acclaim from the fans.
