Jonas Omlin made his league debut for FC Luzern, where he previously played for the youth teams, in March 2015 at the age of 21. In the following season, he went on loan to FC Le Mont-sur-Lausanne in the second division and subsequently became a regular keeper at Luzern. He came to the attention of Swiss football heavyweights FC Basel and they signed Omlin for the 2018/19 season, when he won the domestic Schweizer Cup with FCB.
Basel was his sporting home for two years before he moved on to HSC Montpellier. He made 74 appearances in two and a half years for the then Ligue 1 club.
In January 2023, Borussia Mönchengladbach finally brought him to the Bundesliga as the successor to long-serving keeper Yann Sommer. After six months, Omlin took over the captaincy from club legend Lars Stindl, who had left the club, a position he held for two years until the start of the current season.

The four-time Switzerland international spoke about his new role with the Werkself: "I'm delighted a club like Bayer 04 Leverkusen have placed their trust in me. A Champions League club with big ambitions - it's a great challenge to support my new team and play my part in helping to achieve the goals they’ve set themselves."

Under the motto ‘Sound of Dreams - #aCROSS Europe 2025/26’, Bayer 04 are turning this season's UEFA Champions League season into a festival. In addition to a Spotify playlist that fans can use to get in the mood for the Champions League nights, there is also a tour pass with stickers for the respective UCL matches exclusively for Bayer 04 Club members. These could be picked up in the respective weeks of the matches. The sticker for the final clash in the league phase (Villarreal, 28 January, 21:00 CET) is now available at the Fanwelt. The competition for all diligent sticker collectors is also now open. Read on for further information.
