Florian Wirtz named Bundesliga Player of the Month for February

Bayer 04’s Florian Wirtz has been voted the Bundesliga’s Player of the Month for February 2024. It’s the 20-year-old’s third title of this season after also picking up the award in October and December of last year.

The award is run by video game developer EA together with the Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL). Wirtz came out ahead of some big-name competition from Harry Kane (Bayern Munich), Xavi Simons (RB Leipzig) and Kevin Stöger (Bochum), as well as teammates Alejandro Grimaldo and Jeremie Frimpong.

Wirtz made four Bundesliga appearances in February, providing three assists.

Werkself roll of honour

An official Player of the Month award has been handed out in the Bundesliga since the 2018/19 season, with Wirtz’s latest triumph the 10th for a Leverkusen player.
