The last time as guests of Bayer Mexico: On Friday morning local time, employees from other sites had the virtual opportunity to put questions to Fernando Carro, Bayer 04 CEO, and Werkself head coach Gerardo Seoane. That was followed by a meet & greet including an autograph session with staff members at the Bayer Mexico site.
In brilliant weather, the players, coaches and staff members were able to join a voluntary tour of Mexico City - on an open-top double-decker bus. Some of the participants used umbrellas as protection against the strong Mexican sun. Sights for Seoane and Co. included Chapultepec Castle, the Palacio des las Bellas Artes opera house plus Zócalo Square with the cathedral.
After the two-hour bus tour, lunch was taken at a roof-top bar at the Ángel de la Independencia, the monument of the revolution, and then it was back to the hotel to finish packing and get ready for the journey home.
Flight LH498 took off at around 23.00 local time on the return flight to Germany. The majority of the Werkself players are using the eleven-hour flight to sleep to be fit and ready to begin their well-deserved summer holidays...
