"Noah Mbamba is one of the big talents in his position as a number six in midfield. He has outstanding technique, is tall and quick," said Bayer 04 sporting managing director Simon Rolfes on the acquisition from the Belgian club. "If he continues to develop at this level he will be able to play an important role in our Werkself in the future given his class."

For the 6'2" Mbamba, the move to Leverkusen is "a step into a top league that I've always watched from next door in Belgium. I like German club football and Bayer 04 are well known for giving young players the best opportunities to achieve the top level in football. I'm very much looking forward to next few years here on the Rhine."

The FIFA World Cup 2026 in the USA, Canada and Mexico is underway. A total of eight Leverkusen players are taking part in the 23rd World Cup, with 48 teams in the tournament for the first time. Bayer04.de brings you all the latest from Werkself players at the World Cup.
