BarmeniaGothaer & Bayer 04 present Tapsoba with cheque from shirt sales

Bayer 04 and main sponsor BarmeniaGothaer have shown great commitment to the community as the sale of custom-designed T-shirts for charity in the Fanwelt as part of the “BarmeniaGothaer Brings Joy campaign raised a good €5,000. Bayer 04 matched this sum with an equal contribution. As a result, a total of €10,000 was presented to Edmond Tapsoba for his foundation ahead of the home match against Hamburg. The foundation supports people facing challenging daily circumstances in his home country of Burkina Faso.

Frank Lamsfuß (a member of the BarmeniaGothaer AG executive board) and Bayer 04 CEO Fernando Carropresented the cheque in aid of the Fondation Edmond Tapsoba to the Werkself defender before the warm-up.

Exclusive documentary online

At the end of April, Bayer 04 released an exclusive documentary about Tapsoba on Werkself-TV and the club’s own YouTube channel. For the documentary, the Leverkusen player – who recently signed a long-term contract extension until 2031 – travelled to his home country of Burkina Faso with a delegation from the club. While there, Tapsoba offered a unique insight into his early days in football, the country’s culture and the inspiring work of his foundation, the Fondation Edmond Tapsoba, which has once again received support from Leverkusen through the proceeds from T-shirt sales. Bayer 04 sign Argentine World Cup runner-up Facundo Medina from Marseille

Bayer 04 Leverkusen have signed Argentina international Facundo Medina. The defender, who can play both at left-back and in a more central position in the back line, has signed a contract with Bayer 04 to 30 June 2031. The 1.84-metre-tall World Cup runner-up, who will wear the number 2 shirt, joins the club from French top-flight side Olympique de Marseille.
