BarmeniaGothaer & Bayer 04 present Tapsoba with cheque from shirt sales

Bayer 04 and main sponsor BarmeniaGothaer have shown great commitment to the community as the sale of custom-designed T-shirts for charity in the Fanwelt as part of the “BarmeniaGothaer Brings Joy campaign raised a good €5,000. Bayer 04 matched this sum with an equal contribution. As a result, a total of €10,000 was presented to Edmond Tapsoba for his foundation ahead of the home match against Hamburg. The foundation supports people facing challenging daily circumstances in his home country of Burkina Faso.

Frank Lamsfuß (a member of the BarmeniaGothaer AG executive board) and Bayer 04 CEO Fernando Carropresented the cheque in aid of the Fondation Edmond Tapsoba to the Werkself defender before the warm-up.

Exclusive documentary online

At the end of April, Bayer 04 released an exclusive documentary about Tapsoba on Werkself-TV and the club’s own YouTube channel. For the documentary, the Leverkusen player – who recently signed a long-term contract extension until 2031 – travelled to his home country of Burkina Faso with a delegation from the club. While there, Tapsoba offered a unique insight into his early days in football, the country’s culture and the inspiring work of his foundation, the Fondation Edmond Tapsoba, which has once again received support from Leverkusen through the proceeds from T-shirt sales. New seating at the BayArena amidst refurbishments

Renovation work has been underway at the BayArena for several weeks now as part of the stadium’s routine refurbishment after 17 years. More and more of the new folding seats – which, from next season, will provide significantly greater comfort and make it easier to move between rows – have now been installed. The new high-quality seats have now been fitted throughout the entire east stand, giving the BayArena a new lease of life.
