The BayArena will have a maximum capacity of 15,000 for tomorrow's game on Saturday, 4 December. That is due to the new coronavirus protection order for North Rhine-Westphalia issued on Friday afternoon.
Fernando Carro, Bayer 04 CEO: "The fact we only get to know about and have to implement key changes less than 24 hours before a big event is more than annoying and actually scarcely practicable. But we want to give the people who are allowed to come a good stadium experience and we will do our best to implement the last-minute order."
Bayer 04 introduced the 2G ruled their own stadium early on. The whole first team squad including staff have that status. In addition, Bayer 04 has campaigned continually for vaccinations on a range of platforms.
Matchday ticket sales were stopped yesterday (Thursday). Tickets remain valid including the hundred away tickets sold in Fürth. Tickets are no longer available.
Season ticket holders can watch the penultimate Bundesliga home game in 2021 at the BayArena. Already dispatched tickets are valid for the Fürth game. That does not however applied to tickets in the standing area.
Standing is banned in accordance with the coronavirus protection order. Holders of season tickets in that section will be allocated new seats for tomorrow, Saturday. Bayer 04 will inform the supporters affected of the exact procedure via email.
Bayer 04 hereby emphasise that a medical mask must be worn at all times at the BayArena. That is a binding provision of the coronavirus protection order.
Bayer 04 is expecting a capacity of 15,000 spectators for the last home game of 2021 against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim on 15 December. Information on how the club will allocate the available tickets will be sent out to season ticket holders via email in good time before the matchday and also published on the club's media.
In addition, the following regulations apply at the BayArena:
We apologise to all fans and partners of Bayer 04 for any inconvenience arising from the late information regarding the decisions taken. Nevertheless, we hope for a pleasant visit to the BayArena and a positive result for the Werkself and most important: Stay safe and healthy.

High spirits and previously untold stories: Around 100 Bayer 04 fans packed the Schwadbud fan pub in the east stand of the BayArena on Thursday evening to be there in person for the first instalment of the new series of events entitled “Rudi lädt ein” (Rudi invites you). They listened intently as long-serving Werkself players Gonzalo Castro and Stefan Kießling chatted with record appearance-maker Rüdiger Vollborn and presenter and stadium announcer Tobias Ufer about their many years together at the club, shared amusing anecdotes and revealed dressing room secrets. Anyone who missed the premiere can already look forward to the second instalment – on 12 May, Rudi will be testing the expert knowledge of Bayer 04 fans during a quiz night.
