Following the first home game in the New Year against Union Berlin (2-2) behind closed doors, Bayer 04 are able to allow spectators into the BayArena for the second home game in 2022: 750 supporters can attend the match against Augsburg who are currently sixteenth in the table. One third of the permitted capacity will go to the VIP areas in the West and South Stands at the BayArena. The other 500 tickets will be for the blocks F1 and F4 in the West Stand.
Tickets for the West Stand (public area) will go exclusively to holders of season cards who have opted for the 'draw bowl' option. Allocation will be done according to the principle of first-come, first-served. Season cardholders will be informed of the exact procedure via email in the next few days. Tickets for blocks F1 and F4 cost €15 full price (concessions: Youth €7.50, Children €5).
The 2G rule applies in the public area, which means only recovered or vaccinated spectators are allowed in the stadium. In the VIP area, a certified test is also required, i.e. 2G+ or full vaccination including a booster.
Medical-grade face masks (surgical masks or FFP2) must be worn throughout the stadium and may only be removed at the seat. Bayer 04 recommend wearing a medical mask throughout the whole time spent at the stadium and surrounding areas.
Free use of the ÖPNV Transport system is not covered by the ticket and there will also be no shuttle bus service. There will however be a large number of car park spaces free of charge under the motorway flyover.

Lying third in the Bundesliga, the Werkself made a faltering start in 2026 after the winter break, but gradually rediscovered winning ways and, as in the previous campaign, were among the top 16 in Europe and the top four in the DFB Pokal. In the Bundesliga, the Werkself also remained in the race for Champions League qualification right to the end. However, because setbacks repeatedly crept into the Werkself's performances between good displays and crucial games, it was not quite enough to secure a UCL spot in the end. A season with many ups and downs brought sixth place and qualification for the UEFA Europa League. Part II of the review of the 2025/26 season.

Following the final match of the 2025/26 season, the prevailing feeling was naturally one of disappointment after missing out on qualification for the Champions League. The Werkself finished the Bundesliga in sixth place, meaning they'll start the 2026/27 campaign in the Europa League. "But to talk negatively about everything now because of that would be wrong," stressed captain Robert Andrich following the final game, knowing that the past year at Bayer 04 was marked, more than almost any other, by the start of a new era and the courage to change – and in particular, the belief in a positive direction. Everyone was aware this process would need time. The first part of the 2025/26 season review.
