Every season tells its own story. Last season – and there is no doubt about it – was disappointing for us. Nevertheless: The story certainly has an exciting plot. And a positive end with the thrilling fan activity for the derby against FC Köln, staying up and the final 6-2 victory away to Hertha Berlin at the Olympic Stadium. And there were one or two highlights over the course of the campaign. One example came in the Champions League group stage with the 1-0 win against Tottenham at Wembley Stadium.
Anybody wanting to look back at the 2016/17 season can see that in detail on our new website. That is why there is the Season heading on the left navigation bar at the top. At the end of the day, it's the Werkself games that interest us above all else. And that includes matches in all competitions. That is usually three. This term we will have to settle for just the Bundesliga and the DFB Cup.
Our season review gives you a complete insight into the Werkself games. Results, tables, statistics, match reports, action shots, our Bayer 04 TV reports, all relevant news on a particular matchday as well as the collective posts on the club's social media channels. That is all organised in a clear and compact way for every matchday in every competition.
At the very top of the Season page we have the current season statistics: wins, draws, defeats, goal difference, home and away record. Clicking on a particular matchday will bring up all the information.
The season review is available for the previous and the current campaigns. We are also confident that the story in 2017/18 will not only be exciting but it will also have a happy ending for us. Three competitions are cooler than just two...

Bayer 04 have fond memories of their encounters with Heidenheim, including a resounding 6-0 win in the reverse fixture. Kasper Hjulmand’s side would very much like to produce a similarly clinical display as they now head to the Voith-Arena for Matchday 27 on Saturday (15:30 CET). But they come up against a team fighting for their Bundesliga lives at the bottom of the table, 10 points adrift of safety with time running out. Here’s all you need to know ahead of the game in our matchday news.

A quick look at the table shows the situation at FC Heidenheim is serious. The Bundesliga bottom club are already ten points behind the play-off spot with their backs to the wall in sporting terms.
