Tapsoba recently played his 150th game for Bayer 04 in the 2-1 home win against SC Freiburg. The central defender will be involved in the Africa Cup of Nations in the Ivory Coast from 13 January 2024. If selected, Bayer 04 players involved in the competition will also include Amine Adli (Morocco), Victor Boniface (Nigeria) plus Odilon Kossounou (Ivory Coast) in addition to Tapsoba (Burkina Faso). All the national teams of those Leverkusen players have qualified for the AFCON finals.

Fanclub 1976 Leverkusen" - dates back 50 years. A number of fan club representatives will be involved in awards, a banner display and a half-time matchday chat, and the Werkself are set to play in a special white fan club jersey.
