Other nominees from the Bundesliga, alongside Edmond Tapsoba from Burkina Faso, are Ramy Bensebaini (Algeria/Borussia Dortmund) and Serhou Guirassy (Guinea/VfB Stuttgart).
Tapsoba recently played his 150th game for Bayer 04 in the 2-1 home win against SC Freiburg. The central defender will be involved in the Africa Cup of Nations in the Ivory Coast from 13 January 2024. If selected, Bayer 04 players involved in the competition will also include Amine Adli (Morocco), Victor Boniface (Nigeria) plus Odilon Kossounou (Ivory Coast) in addition to Tapsoba (Burkina Faso). All the national teams of those Leverkusen players have qualified for the AFCON finals.
Bayer 04 Leverkusen welcomes a new official member to the Sponsors’ Club at the start of the 2026/27 campaign. KKV Kabelverlegung GmbH & Co. Bayer 04 Leverkusen has extended the existing partnership agreement with EDO Personalservice GmbH and, at the same time, expanded its collaboration with the Cologne-based company. The official partner in the Business Club has been upgraded within Bayer 04’s partner network. The revised and enhanced support for the club has initially been agreed for two years, running until 30 June 2028.
