
The Les Bleus youngsters started the tournament last Thursday with a game against Italy. Amine Adli came on as a substitute on 79 minutes in a 2-1 win to play his first minutes in the tournament. France then played Norway three days later. Adli scored the only goal of the game on 57 minutes and was substituted shortly after that.
The team under coach Sylvain Ripoll were impressive on the third matchday in Group D: The match against Switzerland on Wednesday night ended in a 4-1 victory. Adli missed the game due to a one-match ban. The win against Switzerland saw France round off the group games with three wins in three matches and end the first stage as clear winners.
The knockout stages in the U 21 tournament begin on Sunday 2 July. The quarter-final against Ukraine, second in Group B with seven points, kicks off in Cluj at 21.00 CEST.

Bayer 04 are away to third-division club SV Wehen Wiesbaden in the first round of the 2026/27 DFB Pokal. That was the outcome of the draw on Saturday night, 6 June, at the German Football Museum in Dortmund. The Werkself first round tie will be played between 21 and 24 August.
